This Product Condition & Collector Expectations Policy forms part of The Brick Hut’s Terms & Conditions and applies to all products sold through our website.

Our Commitment

At The Brick Hut, we take great care in sourcing, storing, packing and dispatching products to ensure they arrive in excellent condition.

Many of the products we sell are intended for collectors as well as players and hobbyists. However, unless a product is specifically advertised as being in “Mint”, “Case Fresh”, “Grading Candidate” or similar condition, all products are sold as standard retail products.

As such, customers should expect products to be in excellent retail condition rather than flawless collector-grade condition.

Retail Condition

Retail condition means a product is suitable for its intended purpose and sale through normal retail channels.

Minor cosmetic imperfections may occur during manufacturing, distribution or handling before the product reaches us.

Examples include:

  • Minor shelf wear

  • Small corner softening

  • Light scuffing

  • Minor edge wear

  • Small creases to outer packaging

  • Minor scratches to plastic wrapping

  • Slight dents to outer boxes

  • Minor print imperfections

  • Small manufacturing marks

These do not affect the functionality, authenticity or contents of the product and are not considered faults.

Collector Expectations

Many manufacturers do not produce products specifically for collectors.

Products may pass through multiple warehouses, distributors and shipping networks before reaching The Brick Hut.

For this reason, we cannot guarantee that sealed products will be free from every cosmetic imperfection.

Customers seeking pristine investment-grade packaging should contact us before purchasing to discuss available stock.

Where possible, we will always try to assist, but cannot guarantee collector-grade packaging unless expressly advertised.

LEGO Products

LEGO boxes are designed primarily to protect the contents rather than serve as display items.

Minor cosmetic wear may include:

  • Light corner compression

  • Minor edge rubbing

  • Small surface marks

  • Minor dents

  • Warehouse label residue

  • Slight creasing

These are considered normal retail wear.

Where a LEGO box has sustained significant damage that affects the overall condition of the product, we will clearly state this before sale where reasonably possible.

Trading Card Products

Trading card products may display:

  • Factory wrapping marks

  • Slightly loose shrink wrap

  • Minor tears in shrink wrap

  • Small dents

  • Minor corner compression

  • Manufacturer seal variations

These are normal manufacturing or distribution characteristics.

They do not affect the authenticity of the contents.

Individual Trading Cards

Individual cards may contain manufacturing imperfections including:

  • Print lines

  • Off-centre printing

  • Minor whitening

  • Roller marks

  • Surface scratches

  • Ink inconsistencies

These originate during manufacture and are not faults.

The Brick Hut cannot guarantee that any card will achieve a specific grading score from PSA, Beckett, CGC or any other grading company.

Manufacturer Variations

Manufacturing standards vary between brands.

Packaging design, seals, printing quality and materials may differ between production runs.

These variations are outside our control and do not indicate counterfeit products.

Courier Damage

If your parcel arrives visibly damaged:

  • please photograph the parcel before opening if possible;

  • retain all original packaging;

  • contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

Where damage occurred during transit, we will work with you and the delivery company to resolve the matter promptly.

Products Damaged Before Dispatch

If we identify significant cosmetic damage before dispatch which falls outside normal retail condition, we may:

  • contact you with photographs;

  • offer a replacement where available;

  • offer a partial refund;

  • offer a full refund.

Returns Based on Cosmetic Condition

Returns will not normally be accepted solely because of minor cosmetic imperfections that fall within normal retail standards.

Examples include:

  • small dents;

  • light scratches;

  • minor shelf wear;

  • slight corner wear;

  • small shrink-wrap imperfections;

  • manufacturer print defects.

Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights where goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet the requirements of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Collectible & Investment Purchases

Products sold by The Brick Hut are intended primarily for enjoyment, collecting and gameplay.

We do not guarantee future investment value, grading potential or appreciation in the secondary market.

Customers purchasing products for investment purposes do so entirely at their own risk.
